Default Info on Eluyn "Larry" Lawrence 1SFG Okinawa

I am seeking information on my father Eluyn Lawrence known as Larry Lawrence. Dad passed away last year aged 90. I would love any information on him or general information on his unit. I have been trying to claim unclaimed medals from the NPRC but it seems that some of his records have gone missing. I know that he did at least 4 campaigns to Vietnam. Mum is nearly 90 and doesn’t remember all that much now but he never told her/us all that much of what he actually was doing anyway.

Dad was in the 1st SFG in Okinawa (possibly 1st SFG 1st SF) before that he was in the 101st Airborne. He also had something to do with the engineer’s div as well at one stage in his army career.
We were in Okinawa 65-67 (I was 11 when we left) but dad was there before us. He retired mid 67 after 23 years of service. I believe that he could have gone on secret/covert operations/missions and wore the “black pyjamas” but don’t have anything official about this only little bits and pieces that have been told very occasionally. I have some of his DD214 forms also a WD53 from 1949 and some certificates etc. One certificate is for Parachuting into Taiwan in May 1965 and it has Aumee EX IV on it –I don’t know what that means. Dad also went back after he retired and worked as a civilian but somehow attached to the Military but not sure how and exactly when.
Any Info would be very much appreciated. Thank you. Lisa

Default Aumee EX IV

Aumee EX IV was a joint US and Taiwan Special Forces exercise held on Taiwan in May 1965. The US and Taiwan teams were together, formed guerrillas, and harassed the conventional Taiwanese Army.
