Trying to determine the name of a Special Forces troop I remember reading about some time ago now. Actually many years ago now. Was first, as a teenager, a partisan fighting as a Spanish Republican in the Spanish Civil War, 1930's. Came to the U.S. and fought during WW2 as a member of the Merrill's Marauders in Burma. Then was one of the original members of the SF. Was STILL ON ACTIVE DUTY IN THE LATE 1970'S. Retired as a SGM. The name is perhaps Eladio Alvarez (Arias). Need to confirm or deny or establish the name in actuality. Perhaps someone knows about this man? Or can point me in the right direction? All help appreciated. Thanks in advance.
