Are there any other graybeards out there who remember Charlie McGuire and Dan Baldwin?

I remember Charlie (Bull )McGuire,as a matter of fact he now lives at Holden Beach, NC in Varmntown, and is a full pledged (Man Of The Cloth) soldiering for the Lord.

Two things I remember about D/7 during that period were the New Jersey State Fair and being marched down to the BBQ area every Friday afternoon for our weekly promotion party. The company sergeant major made it mandatory. Those were the days.

Clifford Gissell, A Medic on an A-Team, can't remember which one, though.

A popular quip from the '60's: "If you can remember, you really weren't there."

Anyone of you remember SGM Theodore R. Finch? He was a SGM in D/7th during that time frame. Thanks, Walter Finch

I Do
Big Mac Came to me on his last tour in VN with Warren Calkin. They volunteered for a tour of duty with the 5th Gp and there were no positions for them at that at that time. They decided to return back to the US. I put up with them for about a month befor they got orders to return. This was in 69 or 70.But I haven't seen him since he got religon.
I believe Bowser was 5th Gp CSM at that time.

Jack , referance your message about SGM (Bull) McGuire and SGM Warren Calkin, both of them are now down here in the beach area of Wilmington. McGuire is still in Varmntown doing the Lord's work, while Calkin is in Castle Hayne and going on overseas missionary work for the Lord. Two outstanding SF SGM's still working for man kind.

Respectfully,

I was in D of the 7th at that time for about 6 months before heading to 5th Group in Nam. McQuire was the Company SGM. I think Baldwin was a LTC. I never would have remembered it, but McQuire asked at the formation that they needed someone to send up as the company representative for Soldier of the Quarter. I was a SP4 straight out of tng. It was like playing tag. "You're It". There were a lot of DPs in the 7th and 10th at that time.

I was in the 10th (61-65) that had a lot of EX-DPs. They all found a home in the Force and to the man, were very good people.
