Verification and Looking for Friends of Rick Mohr

I am in the unfortunate position of believing that a gentleman that is the fiance of a dear friend is lying about his service in RVN as an SF soldier. The individuals name is Rick or Richard Mohr and he says he served in RVN for 15 months in the 1970-71 period. He claims to have been in SF to have a Silver Star and Purple Heart (multiple). I am a career soldier who has worked in 96th CA BN and USASOC during my time in service. While this guy is saying all of the things that raise red flags with me he is evasive enough that I am not in the position (yet) to call him a liar in front of my friend.

If anyone knows Mohr or served with him please contact me. I would be pleased to be proven wrong.

Hey there, do not know Mohr, but if he has a Silver star and several purple hearts you can look that up online. Silver star Registry is one to look at and there are several purple heart lists......good luck,if he's a fake bust him out. CSM-H

Just ask Mr Mohr the folowing questions. What unit was he assigned? Who was his Team Sgt. In what city was the Sporting Bar located. I've used these simple questions to smoke out several wanna bees. Jim D95L

His reference resource booklet,US Army Special Forces in Vietnam is pretty complete and he has almost all of the DET's and there members names and dates served along with decorations. I am stunned to read your post because I am in almost the same unfortunate situation re: Rick Mohr--only my very dear friend JUST MARRIED HIM. I am doubtful of his claims, as you are, and was searching around online before finding this site. If you posted in March, and my friend met him in April and had a whirlwind romance before marrying him last week, then it scares me to think he had just had another fiancee! Other things are frightening, too---his false claims of valor, etc.

I hope you come back to check this site and read this. Please post to me if it would be possible to talk to find a way to expose this man and stop him. I cringe when I think of him married to my friend, and need some proof of his fraud to confront him.

I read your posts, if this is the same man from Arundel, Maine that I knew he was never in the armed services and was never a child psychologist. He is one of the biggest scam artist you'll ever meet. Tell your friends to run as far away as possible. I speak the truth as I knew him personally and had to learn the hard way. Thank you to all of you who have responded. Rick Mohr Arundel/Kennebunk/Wells Maine is a very dangerous and sick man. Through the contacts that have come forward since our original posting, in addition to the fraud he is perpetrating regarding his military serivce, we have also learned of allegations of insurance fraud, filiing false police statements and most egregiously, alleged child sexual abuse and molestation. If there is anyone else out there who has not yet responded and has more information, now is the time to come forward so that no more women and children are not victemized and violated by this monster. Thank you in advance for your consideration and assistance.

Quick update: He may also be using the intentional mis-spelling of his last name. AKA Rick Moore Arundel/Kennebunk/Wells Maine.
