Please help, any help would truly be appreciated. I am looking for my uncle CWO Kinsley, Ned. The last time I saw him was in Torri Station(The Box) Okinawa in 1991-1992. He was stationed there for a few years, and last i heard he might have retired in or about mid to late 1990's. I am truly at a loss trying to find My uncle. I was stationed in the USMC in OKi and lost contact with him in 1992. Please Help.

Pasq -

I am sorry to report to you but your uncle Ned Kinsley passed away a few years ago of a heart attack. I am not sure of the details or the exact date but I remember hearing about it a few years ago. I served with Ned on Oki in the early 90s.

Again sorry for the news.

I also served with Chief Kinsley on Okinawa and was there when Chief passed away. If I remember correctly Chief passed away in 1994 on Torri Station, of a heart attack just after finishing PT. Chief Kinsley was well liked and was sorely missed when he died.

As with the others I hate to say your uncle and one of my best friends Ned Kinsley has gone to the Last Formation. We were young SGTs together in the 7th SFGA in '69 and then we served together in B55 Mike Force, 5th SFGA in Vietnam. We stayed in touch after that, and it was always good to see the "Brooklyn Kid" He financed my courtship of my wife before I left for Nam, lent me money and let me borrow his Mustang.

We fought together in several engagements and there was no braver, more dedicated soldier. The Mike Force was one of the finest fighting forces in RVN, he had 2nd CRP (Combat Recon Plt) and often ran operations with me, I had 512 Company.

I spoke with his sister several years ago, and sent some pictures I had of us in RVN.

Ned was one of the folks you never forget, no matter how bad it got, he always had a one liner, a wisecrack to calm the nerves.
