Special Forces Association - Secretary
     Mel Smith entered the United States Army in February 1971, completing basic training at Fort Campbell, KY, and AIT at Fort Dix, NJ.  Following Jump School he went through SFQC in 1971/72 and spent approximately 20 years in Special Forces serving with the 5th SFG, 10th SFG, 1/10th SFG and USAJFKSWCS.  Since retirement has been actively involved with the SF community and the SFA since 1998; and served as the SFA Secretary and Administrative Director over the last five years.
