Special Forces Association - Assistant Treasurer
Kenneth "Ken" Cannon was drafted into the military in April 1971, completing basic training, leadership academy, and AIT in Ft Leonard Wood, MO. His initial assignment was to 5th Special Forces Group. He also served in 10th Special Forces in Bad Toelz Germany. He spent approximately 19 years in Special Forces including duties as an instructor for both medical students and dive students in Key West, FL. He spent a total of 27 years in the military and retired as a CSM for the 44th Medical Brigade. He stayed active within the SF community and maintained close contact the SF medical facility.
After retirement Ken got his license as a property insurance adjuster and worked for USAA. Approximately two and one-half years ago Ken was contacted to work with the Special Operations community in the capacity of a Senior Military Medical Analyst. He has published two training supplements for the Journal of Special Operations Medicine, a USSOCOM journal published by the Surgeons Office in Tampa. He is currently serving as the SFA Assistant Treasurer and the interim Administrative Director until this position is permanently filled in April 10.
